Hip Hugger Fail

I've never seen or heard of the Hip Hugger before. My best friend and I were shopping together in Jo-Ann Fabrics and happened to see the Hip Hugger hanging on a rack. I was slightly intrigued and picked it up to look it over, but decided it wasn't for me and put it back. My bestie thought I should give it a try so she bought it for me.

I've had the Hip Hugger for a while, letting it sit in one of my dresser drawers, and finally decided to break open the pack and see what it was all about.

The package says "the no-buckle, no-bulk, no-front belt" so the Hip Hugger is a belt alternative, another option besides a big belt and buckle bulge. The package also says "bye bye peek-a-booty" so this should also help tighten pants at the waist without giving a butt gap.

I'm someone who doesn't really like wearing belts and the bulkier the belt the less I like it. I also struggle with but gap issues with my jeans so why not give it a try?

The last thing I noticed about the package is that it said one size fits most. I've never been a fan of the one size fits all / most theory because that's just not a thing to me but my bestie bought it so I tried it.

The Hip Hugger looks similar to a suspender and has suspender-like closures on each end so that they can attach to your belt loops.

The Hip Hugger was easy to use and pretty easy to put on my pants, but overall I was not a fan of it. It did connect to my belt loops and it did stretch and was adjustable, but I didn't like the look or the feel. The Hip Hugger is thinner than a belt and I believe the thinness is one of the reasons I did not like it.

The Hip Hugger was too thin to provide the right amount of snugness for me. When moving and sitting, it would rise and rest on my skin as opposed to resting on the waistband of the jeans. I also don't think the Hip Hugger was that aesthetically pleasing. For those reasons, it's not something I could see myself using often.

The Hip Hugger was a nifty idea and works for some, as I've seen some reviews online stating so. While my bestie and I bought it at Jo-Ann, I see that it can also be purchased at Walmart and online through Amazon and eBay.

Again, I need something a little more sturdy and something that provides a little more support. Unfortunately, it looks like I'll still be utilizing belts in the near future.
